Last round I found the starter that I was using needed rebuilt to be good enough to reliably turn the engine over. I now have the starter fix and installed and ready to see if the engine will now run.
How bad was my cheap Land Rover?
Today I take a look at how badly the Land Rover Discovery was running and start to fix it by replacing the spark plugs, O2 sensors, MAF Sensor, and Throttle Position Sensor.

Last round I found the engine was stuck and without a driveshaft I could not break the engine free. Today I install the missing driveshaft, deal with more surprise missing parts, and again see if the Sprite will run.
Today I replace the front driveshaft in my Land Rover Discovery II.
Trail Ride Crossing Defeats Me
Today I head out the Oak Ridge Motorcross facility in Garwin, IA for their Halloween five mile trail ride for 4x4s and Side by Sides. While on the motorcross course it feels like you are driving on a roller coaster but some of the creek crossings ending up being more challenging than they first appeared.
I showed up with a 1996 Land Rover Discovery to Junkyard Digs first annual Cheap Truck Challenge. I didn’t know what I was getting into but I headed blindly into the woods at MIOBI with a Suzuki Samurai, Ford Bronco, Chevrolet S10, and a Ford Ranger. What what happened when things went from testing our vehicles capabilities to mayhem.

Cheap 4×4 Truck Challenge Build Off
The guys over at Junkyard Digs invited me to a cheap off roader build off where we had just $1000 to buy a vehicle and $1000 to spend on parts for it. Within reason we could also borrow things we had lying around as well as sell parts off our vehicle to help the build.
